Memorial Day Fun

We had a fun Memorial Day with family. We went over to mom and dad's for a bbq and some pool fun. The kiddos had a fun time, especially Easton. We tried a few different flotation devices and settled on the floaties and water noodle and he was content to just float on his own (with supervision close by). Eme wasn't as comfortable in the water with her floaties on, but with time became more comfortable with the noodle and her floaties and even let go of one of Poppy's arms to show she was becoming brave. The hamburgers and hotdogs were delish and Easton even tried his first hotdog. Let's just say he takes after his Daddy in that aspect. He was all over it and wanted seconds. We had yummy food, good company, pool fun, and the only things we missed - Josh, Kallie, Karim, and Chris. Hope everyone had a great holiday! Thanks be to those who have fought and continue to fight valiantly and courageously for the freedoms we too often take for granted. Thanks be to those men and women serving today to protect our freedoms. God Bless the USA!

M & M Come For a Visit

Dane's cousin Mica and her husband, Mike came to visit us over the Memorial Day weekend. It was fun to reconnect and catch up on how they are doing. They will be moving soon so Mike can go to Dental School out west. It is sad we didn't spend more time with them while they lived in Houston, but life gets so busy and crazy! Best of luck to you both in your future endeavors!

More Fun with Chris and Karim

The day before Chris and Karim were leaving to go back to Virginia, we (Ashley, myself, Kallie, Josh, Chris and Karim) decided to go to Six Flags. Because of a late start, lines, and eating lunch - we were only able to ride three rides during our 5 1/2 -6 hours there. We came back to my parents house (thanks again for watching Eme and Easton) and had some yummy Chinese food from Pei Wei. We hung out by the pool, the boys + Karim and Kallie played some basketball, and we just hung out. It was a beautiful night and fun was had by all. Thanks for the fun times Karim and Chris! We can't wait to see you guys in July. Thanks Mom and Dad for always making it possible for us to have fun things to do while we are together as a family.

Pedis for the Girlies

Thanks mom for making it possible for us to have a little girls time. My mom was a dear and watched her four grandchildren so the girls could go and get a pedicure. Next time we will have mom come with us instead and have the men watch the kiddos. It was fun to reconnect and get a little nap in also. I went a little wild and had my toes painted turquoise. Fun was had by all. Thanks again, Mom - you rock!

Chris and Karim Come to Texas

Because our Anniversary trip overlapped the arrival of Chris and Karim in Texas, they had already been in Texas for 5 days by the time we connected with them. We were quick to take Karim out to Chick 'Fil A and get Eme's favorite sies and chicky nuggets. We were able to have an opportunity to have dinner with everyone (minus Dane who couldn't get out of church responsibilities, we missed you, Babe) and have some yummy pizza, yummy dessert, and great company. We loved what Kallie and Josh have done with their home and it was fun to have everyone together. The kiddos loved their fireplace and used it as their performance stage all evening long. Fun was had by all and it was fun all be together again!
