Sunday Picts

Very rarely these days can I get both kiddos to sit still, so on Sunday I took advantage of an unusual opportunity to take some pre-church pictures of them.  East looked so grown up in his shirt and tie.  Eme was asked to give the scripture and prayer in Primary and had it all memorized - the idea of getting up in front of the Junior Primary scared her to death and Mommy ended up doing both because she refused to look at anyone and was crying.  It is fun to see these kiddos growing up and developing their personalities.  Sometimes we go head-to-head because of our stubborn natures, but what a blessing to have both of them!

Wood Badge

Although not a huge Scouter, my dad received his Wood Badge the day before he left for his mission.  It was cool to participate in the ceremony!  Go Dad!!!

Last Day with Grammy and Poppy before leaving on their Mission

We had one last Sunday dinner together (missed you Chris and Karim) before my parents depart on their mission for 18 months.  They both spoke in church on importance of scripture study (Mom) and the value of service (Dad).  They both did awesome and it was great to be able to attend their sacrament meeting and be a part of this special day.  We had our favorite dinner of chicken turnovers, salad, beans, and rice with fruit pizza for dessert.  We talked and reminisced and then it was time to say good-bye.  It was hard knowing that my parents will be gone for 18 months, but what a blessing for our family!  They will be awesome missionaries and those they serve and serve with will benefit greatly from them.

Dallas World Aquarium

Because we have so many age ranges in our family, my parents thought it would be fun to go and visit the Dallas World Aquarium.  It is so cool inside and reminds you of a rain forest.  The kiddos loved it and enjoyed seeing the animals.  East got a little restless, but found plenty of things to climb on.  Eme was so happy because she found a Nemo fishy.  It was fun to be together again with the family (minus Chris and Karim - we missed you) and to have an enjoyable afternoon together.  We went to a yummy bbq place after (Sonny Bryans) and filled ourselves full.  Thanks mom and dad for treating us to a fun afternoon together before we part ways for 18 months!

Spring is in Bloom - Arboretum Fun

I love this time of year in Texas.  The Dallas Arboretum has Dallas in Bloom every spring where the beautiful tulips and other spring flowers are in bloom.  To say it is georgous is an understatement!  The weather has been awesome and Grammy and Poppy wanted another venture with the grandkids before leaving town.  The day was perfect and it was a perfect setting for the kiddos to explore, run, play, and just enjoy the day.  Col Col and East both enjoyed pushing the stroller and each other, but not riding it in themselves.  It is so fun to see Grammy and Poppy with the kiddos and to see the cousins having so much fun together!  It was a great day!
