Pre-4th of July Celebration

Every year in our city we have a 4th of July celebration the Saturday before.  We went and participated in the city's free festivities and fireworks show.  It was fun to have families over to watch the fireworks from our backyard and eat some watermelon and popscicles.

Cousin Day of Fun

Ashley needed a few hours of down time during their move into their new place and so Syd and Collins came to play and this is what we came up with to do.  The kiddos had a blast!  I am glad that we live so close to my brother and sis-in-law and family.

Mav's 1st Birthday

Kallie and Josh had a party for Mav this year for his birthday.  Kallie had the theme be Shaun the Sheep and so all of the food and decor based around sheep and pigs.  It was way cute!  Josh even carved a pig out of the watermelon rind.  Kallie had some cute games for the kiddos and even had some short dvds for the kiddos to watch of Shaun the Sheep.  Mav had fun and didn't quite know what to do with his sheep cake.  Thanks Josh and Kallie for a fun birthday celebration!  Happy Birthday, Maverik!

Eme's 1st Dance Recital(Tap and Ballet)

Eme had her first dance recital in June.  She did awesome and it was fun to see her perform both tap and ballet.  She especially rocked it in the tap number where she shook her hips.  Hopefully, the dvd will come soon and I can post a clip from her recital.  Eme has new found confidence and I think that preschool and dance have helped her see she can do anything she sets her mind to do!  Go Em!

Brooklyn/NYC - Part 1

We arrived a few days earlier than expected to NYC to visit my parents.  I decided I wanted to first go and see Chris, Karim, and Sofia in Virginia and then go on to NYC to see my parents.  Dane couldn't go with us because of work so I decided to brave it with 3 kids all by myself.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Easton developed Fifth's Disease a day before we were to leave (rash, but basically normal) which is beyond dangerous for pregnant women to be around because of the possibility of passing the virus onto the baby.  So, this being said - Chris and Karim's house in Virginia was out so we were bummed that we couldn't take the chance to visit them like we had planned.  iInstead of traveling to Virginia,  we stayed on in Newark and spent the extra days with my parents.  We went to the zoo and played at many a parks.  We had a blast.  I am so glad we were able to see them one more time before they come home.  The kiddos were very fascinated by the gym in their bldg and kept asking to go upstairs and exercise!  We had popscicles every night after dinner - only at Grammy and Poppy's!
