Playground fun

So Collins and Ashley could enjoy a little "couple time" to celebrate their anniversary, Col Col and Syd came over to play.  Dane took them over to our neighborhood park so they could work off some of their energy.  The kiddos had a blast!  It is awesome that both Eme and East have cousins their same ages and sexes.  We look forward to many fun times ahead!

Pre-Christmas Celebration

Because we were leaving a few days before Christmas to head to Washington, we decided to do our Christmas celebration as a family a few days before we left.  The kiddos received Leap Pads to play with and enjoy on the journey to Washington.  They received some hats and mittens to stay warm during our stay.  They received some clothes and shoes from Grammy and Poppy, but the big gift they received from Grammy and Poppy was a swing set to put in our backyard.  The kiddos were so excited because they are always asking if we can go to the park and now we will have our very own park in our backyard.  We look forward to the spring and warm weather so we can get them the playground of their dreams!

Jones Christmas Get-Together

We got together with my brothers, sister-in-laws, and cousins for a last hurrah before we all headed in different directions for Christmas.  We had some yummy ice cream sundaes.  It was fun to be together before we were separated for Christmas.  It is so nice to live close to my brothers and their families.  I love sharing the holidays with family.

The Wise Man

Last year we started a tradition in December with Em and East that included a wise man figurine that we would hide each night.  The kids would go around the house looking for the wise man and when they found him, would discover that he had in his hands a piece of paper that had written on it a clue that would lead them to a fun little game, toy, or treat (and on Christmas eve, he would leave a clue to read Luke 2 about the birth of the Savior, which we would then read together as a family).  This year Britt made and sent us a box that had in it fun things for the 12 Days of Christmas (thanks Britt, the kids have loved it).  So we have been using the items Britt sent as part of our wise man activity each night.  One of the things Britt included in the box for one of the days was some bubble gum and a couple of finger poppers (little rubber cylinders that you turn inside out, place on the tip of your finger and shoots across the room).  Well, after playing with his popper for a little while, Eastie found a very practical use for it - a hat for the wise man.  You will notice that the wise man is also missing his hands - he is still functional though and now has a nice little yellow hat to wear.
