Another Year Older and Wiser Too

Dane had a birthday on the 25th and I must say did turn wiser.  He got a new watch and 3 new books.  We had a yummy dinner and apple crisp for dessert.  Happy Birthday, Babe!  What a great companion and father he is.  We are blessed to have him in our home.  We love and appreciate everything he does for us.  I feel blessed to have found him over 12 years ago.  My world was changed in an instant and I feel blessed that we ended up together.  Here's to you babe on your birthday!

Easton turns 2

The morning started out with cinammon rolls and a quick dash to get ready for church.  We had Easton take some cookies to nursery so he could celebrate his birthday with his nursery friends.  We came home from church for a birthday nap and then we opened presents.  We didn't do cake this year because we were on a sugar high from the cupcakes the day before.  It's hard to believe that this bright, handsome, fun-loving, adventurous, free-spirted little boy is already 2.  He is the light of our lives and loves his older sister.  He has become quite independent lately and loves to explore which usually leads to mischief of some kind.  His latest fascination is the toilet.  We have found tooth brushes, balls, toys, and lots of toilet paper to name a few things in the toilet these days.  I continually remind Eme to put the lid down so Easton doesn't get into trouble.  We feel so blessed to have this little guy in our home and feel blessed to have him as our son and brother.  Happy Birthday, to our Bubba!  We love and cherish you!

January Birthday Celebration

Because there are so many birthdays in the month of January, my mom and dad decided to do a January celebration for all the birthdays in the family.  We met at Sonny Bryan's BBQ and then headed back to my parents home for presents and dessert.  Easton received a b-ball hoop that grows with him and a fun tool set, plus some clothes.  Dane received a gift card to Lowe's for him to purchase a grill for our house.  My mom got Sprinkle's cupcakes - let's just say yum!  I tried the cinnamon and sugar and strawberry cupcakes - they were delicious!  It was fun to have a chance to celebrate Sydney, Kallie, Easton, Dane and Karim (how odd that they both share the same birthday 12 years apart) for having birthdays in the month of January.

Silly Poppy

While I went to have my hair cut, my parents watched the kiddos.  This is what type of activity happens when Poppy visits.  The kiddos love their Grammy and Poppy

And They Are Going To........

New York, New York South Mission.  They will be over CES in the Brooklyn area.  They will probably also do some CES work in Manhattan, Long Island, Staten Island, Ellis Island, and Queens.  It will be a great mission for them and they will be Awesome!  To say stunned was their reaction and ours was an understatement!  We are excited for them to be in the US and look forward to visiting them in Brooklyn.  Chris and Karim are excited to have them so close.  Congrats you two!

50's Day @ Preschool

Because it was the 50th day for some of the students at Eme's preschool, they had a 50's day theme.  It was fun for her to dress-up and thanks to Grammy we had a very cute 50's costume for her to wear.

January Snow

We came out of church to find a couple of inches of snow on the ground.  The kiddos were so excited and I told them that when Daddy came home we could go out and play.  When Dane arrived home from church, Eme and he went outside and built a little snowman.  I brought Easton outside after his nap and he was so excited about the snow.  Let's just say we are not well equipped for the snow in Texas (you'll notice that Easton has on pink gloves) so we put the kiddos in whatever we could find to keep them warm because it was freezing outside!  Snow fun for Texas kids.

Syd's 4th birthday party

Eme's cousin Syd had her 4th Birthday party in early January and I took some pictures because the candy theme my sister-in-law did was so cute.  It was fun to see the cones my sister-in-law made for the kiddos to take home with an assortment of candy.  Eme had fun and was happy she went!

Em's Fat Lip

No, Em is not a cage-fighter. On New Year's Day, Linds and Grammy were taking the girls to a movie and after getting some treats and drinks, were walking up the stairs to where their movie was being shown. Em had her hands full with goodies and missed a step, landing face-first onto the edge of a stair. It was a pretty bad spill and she had a nice size cut on the inside of her mouth that required several stitches. Needless to say, she was a trooper and all has since healed - but was quite a traumatizing experience for our little Em.

Baseball fun

When Dane arrived home from work one night, the kiddos were ready and waiting to try out the new tee East received for Christmas.  They took it out back and got some good swings off it.  Dane has been trying to help Eme and East with the proper way to catch a ball and how to hold a bat correctly.  They seem to be catching on and are loving baseball.  What a fun gift!
