Texas Hoedown Program - Starring Eme the Cowgirl

Eme had a Texas Hoedown Program at her preschool.  It was fun to have Grammy and Poppy still in town to participate.  She was very shy while the children were up front singing songs and just stood there quietly, until they started the circle dances and stick routine.  She did awesome and was having fun shaking her hips on one of the songs.  It was fun to see her in action and participating.  It was a fun way to see what she is learning in preschool.  Thanks Grammy and Poppy for coming and supporting Eme.  East was happy once he got a bag of popcorn just for himself!

Little Collins's Birthday

We had a fun birthday celebration on Sunday instead of Saturday for Little Collins because of the Open House held the night before for my parents.  It was fun to have another reason to be together since our time with my parents is starting to quickly draw to an end.  The kiddos could spend hours in this part of my parents back patio that keeps them away from the pool.  They love to hang on the rod iron and be crazy.  Eme and Syd are really into posing for pictures these days, so how could I resist taking a few.  Poppy with his little guys - oh how they love their Grammy and Poppy!

Open House/Good-bye Celebration

Two friends of my mom organized an open house/good-bye celebration for my parents.  It was so fun to see people from the ward I grew up in whom I hadn't seen for years and to meet many new and friendly faces.  It was well-attended and a nice tribute to my parents.  The cake below was so cute and was fun to see the different things and places they will see while back east.  It was also Little Collins's birthday and so we had a family celebration the next day together.  Although it will be hard to say good-bye to my parents, I am so grateful they are having this opportunity to serve together.  Watch out New York - here come the Joneses!!!

Josh and Kallie's Baby Shower

My mom, Ashley, family friend Shirley, and myself threw a couple's shower for Kallie and Josh and little Jonesie.  It was fun to be together and celebrate the upcoming arrival of the 5th Jones grandchild.  We played a game where only the husbands answered the questions (memory-type game), ate yummy food and cake, opened gifts, and just laughed and talked.  It was a fun night all around (except the couple times Kallie fainted).  We wish Kallie and Josh all the joy that will come with having a new little one!

Texan Born and Bred

At Eme's preschool she had the opportunity recently to dress-up like a cowgirl.  East had some chaps and a vest from his cowboy Halloween costume so we lengthened the chaps so they would fit Eme better.  She looked so cute with her chaps, vest, and pink cowgirl boots.  I tried to get her to wear her hat to school, but she declined.  I am not too country, but it is fun to see our Texan girl in her cowgirl boots!

Here recently Eme has asked that I take her picture more often than not.  This particular night she was looking a little scruffy after a long day, but how can a mom refuse these cute faces?

Is Spring In the Air?!?!?!?

Dane had yesterday (President's Day) off from work so he and Eme headed off to the movie theatre to see Gnomeo and Juliet.  They said it was fun, but were disappointed that they had to see it in 3D.  After Easton's nap we headed over to our city park to play outside.  It is so nice to have a city park that has great amenities just across the street.  We have been having spectacular weather the last week and a half (low 70's-low 80's) so we have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather.  It was fun to have the kiddos explore the park and try out new things that wouldn't have done at the park last spring/summer.  It was fun to have Dane participate and I love having an extra set of hands around during the day.
