Memorial Day 2011

We spent Memorial Day with Col and Ashley and the kiddos and some mutual friends.  We had burgers and dogs, watermelon, cookies, chips, and drinks.  It was fun to be together again, but we were definitely missing Grammy and Poppy, Josh, Kallie, Karim, and Chris.  Holiday gatherings aren't the same when we aren't all together, but it was so nice to be together again with Col, Ashley, and their kiddos.  It was so fun to watch the kiddos laughing and playing in the pool together.  Thanks mom and dad for putting in the pool - there will be a lifetime of memories created there! 

Daddy and Kiddos Movie Party

Since Dane had the day off Monday for Memorial Day, the kiddos stayed up a little later on Sunday and had a sleeping bag movie party with Daddy.  They had popcorn, drinks, and treats and lets just say they were in seventh heaven.  They thought it was so cool to be able to lay in and outside of their sleeping bags they received for Christmas.  It is so fun to see them interact with their Daddy and have some fun memories to share together.

Eme's Preschool Program

Eme had her end of the year performance at the Day School she attended.  It was fun to get her all dressed up, but in Emerson fashion she chose to stand quietly and not sing the songs.  Which was fine because we couldn't even see her with the little girl who was supposed to stand next to her, but jumped and danced in front of Eme the whole time.  Eme just kept looking around the girl and smiling at me.  She is a sweetheart and I feel that sending her to preschool really had helped her to become her own person.  Her teachers loved her and said she is such a sweet, well-mannered little girl.  Her teacher was amazed at how well she took care of her things especially her shoes.  She probably will be a little OCD like her mom, but there are worse things I guess than liking order!  It is so fun to watch our little one's growing up and becoming more independent.



Field Day and Road Rally

Eme had Field Day/Road Rally at her Preschool.  She loved it because they had water tables set up outside to play with (anytime water is involved for playtime the kiddos are right there for the action) and then her class had a road rally in the school parking lot.  Eme had a great time and even slowed down to ride with her friend "J" who got frustrated.  It is fun to see her grow and develop.  We are so glad she had the opportunity to attend preschool this year.  She has really grown up in many ways.  It has been so fun to see her personality come alive!

Arboretum - May Flowers and Spring Weather

We went to the Arboretum with some family friends to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having lately.  The weather was perfect!  It was low-mid 70's with a nice breeze.  The flowers were beautiful and it was fun to experience the houses of different fairy tales and petting zoo area with the kiddos.  Eme wanted nothing to do with the animals in the petting zoo, but Easton was all over it.  He thought it was great that you could pet the animals!  Eme's favorite part was rolling down the hills.  We had such a wonderful time and that is why I love the Arboretum because there is more than enough to see and do, but the kiddos love it because they can run and feel alive!
