Because of the sacred nature of Easter Sunday, we opted to not focus alot on the commercial side of things and do just a small Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. We wanted to focus on the true meaning of Easter and help the kiddos understand why we celebrate Easter. I am so thankful for the Atonement and the Resurrection of our Savior. He is the reason I get out of bed daily because I know that with each day I begin, I have the opportunity to become a better wife, mother, sister, and daughter. I am grateful for this wonderful gift and the knowledge and understanding I have of it. I am thankful for the blessings I enjoy daily as a result of the selfless act of love and service. I hope to become a more Christlike person. We went to church and excellent talks and lessons were given. We then spent the afternoon and evening with our best friends, the Links. What a joy to be together with them on a special holiday. It was a very good day! Thanks Grammy and Poppy for the new Sunday garb!

Easter Marathon-Stop 4
Even though Poppy and Grammy were not around to celebrate Easter this year with the grandkids, they did leave behind some fun watering cans, treats, and fun outfits for each of the grandkids (even those on their way and not yet here!). In keeping with tradition, we had the kiddos come over to Grammy and Poppy's house and do an indoor Easter egg hunt. They had a blast and kept looking for more eggs after they were all collected. We missed having Grammy and Poppy, Chris and Karim, and Kallie, but it was fun to continue on with the tradition. Thanks for making Easter memorable thousands of miles away Grammy and Poppy!

Easter Marathon-Stop 3
By Friday of Easter week Eme had already had 2 Easter egg hunts at her preschools. We came to Friday night with hopes of not getting too much candy because of this, but the kiddos had a great time on the Easter Egg hunt and then our ward had a nice dinner following for all the families in our ward. It was fun to be together with our ward.

Idaho Cowboys - Tough as Nails
Three weeks ago our nephew Hatcher went in for his 4th open heart surgery at Stanford University, Lucile Packard Hospital. After Dr. Reddy and his staff worked their magic and closed up Hatcher's chest, there were some unforseen complications which required them to have to go back in and re-open his chest so they could get things stabilized. He had a tough go of it for a number of days, but we have come to learn that the toughest cowboys come from Idaho. Our cowboy drew a tough bull to ride, but he has been a warrior and hung in there through some rough days initially and is now making great progress as he continues to recover and get his strength back. We love you Hatcher, keep riding that bull, buddy!

Cops and Robbers
Because we are teaching the kiddos in preschool about the community they live in, we took a field trip to the police station. It was fun to tour the facility and see an actual jail/holding cell. The kiddos also were able to get in a police car and see what it would be like to be a bad guy in the back of a police car. East and Em were not sure about the motorcycles until their little buddies got on first. It was fun to learn more about our local police dept and how it all works.

Spring is in the Air
The weather in Texas has been Heavenly! We have had a few days were it has been a little cooler, but for the most part it has been in the 70's-80's during the day. As a result, the kiddos and I have been spending a decent amount of time outside. Eme asks me daily if we can go outside and ride scooters and bikes. It has been fun to watch them enjoy the outside so much. The only issue is they are very sad when it is time to go in for dinner. I am trying to enjoy the weather now while it is pleasant because I know the sticky heat is just around the corner!

Favorite Dessert that Reminds me of Spring/Summer
I had a craving for this dessert the other day. I decided it would be great to make for FHE. Thanks mom for introducing me to this dessert - it's the best!
